The Littlest Mermaid Sweetpea is sick and tired of being small! When she sneaks up to the surface with her best friend Kowhai, she notices that humans seem so much taller than mermaids and decides that it must be a result of them having legs rather than a fin. The Sea Witch Wekeweke hears her complaining about her small stature and offers to grant her legs, in return for her beautiful singing voice. But the surface world isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and Wekeweke didn’t quite fulfill her end of the bargain either, leaving Sweetpea even smaller than before! Now she must team up with a teeny tiny heroine named Thumbelina or she faces losing everything forever. This fairy tale mash-up, written and directed by Melissa Charbonneau, aims to encourage our young tamariki that you are never too small to make a BIG difference in the world.
