We are excited to announce that after 10 years of this powerful stage show appearing at Waiuku Theatre Group, “A Soldiers Story” is hitting our stage again in April/May 2026.
“A Soldiers Story” is a WW1 variety style show to commemorate the anniversary of the ANZAC’S landing in Turkey. It is a tale told to the present-day descendants of a young man who served in WW1. It is a portrayal of life before and during the Great War, and the lives and loves of a soldier and his two close friends. The show follows their journey into basic training and the horrors of war, while reflecting the impact on the families left behind to carry on with life at home. The story is based on real life accounts of soldiers who were from Waiuku.
This is a much-loved story for our life member of Waiuku Theatre Group, Alan Thomson. Who brought this show to life for its first successful season and is very excited to introduce a new audience to a performance that will not only entertain, but will make you laugh, cry, and above all, remember and honour those who served and sacrificed for their country.
